\nMarqu\u00e9e de pr\u00e9occupations aux r\u00e9sonnances humanistes qui visent le corps,<\/p>

non seulement le corps physique mais l’\u00eatre tout entier, elle emploie diff\u00e9rents
moyens d’expression aussi vari\u00e9s que la photographie, la peinture, le dessin,<\/p>\n

le collage, l’assemblage et la performance. Elle travaille par  accumulation, <\/span>grattage, d\u00e9chirure et soustraction de mati\u00e8re.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les corps qu’elle peint, <\/span>dessine ou photographie acqui\u00e8rent un caract\u00e8re profond\u00e9ment incarn\u00e9 l\u00e0 o\u00f9 les <\/span>tensions sont parfois insoutenables.<\/span><\/p>\n

Centr\u00e9s autour de diverses th\u00e9matiques sociales telle la
sexualit\u00e9, la violence, la douleur, la maladie, l\u2019angoisse, la peur,
l’itin\u00e9rance ou la place de la femme dans notre soci\u00e9t\u00e9, ses travaux abordent
avant tout et avec une sensibilit\u00e9 manifeste, la fragilit\u00e9 humaine.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/p>\n

L’utilisation de l’autoportrait est l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ment d\u00e9clencheur et le c\u0153ur de sa<\/p>

d\u00e9marche. Elle d\u00e9marre en photographiant son corps ou des parties de<\/p>\n

celui-ci qu’elle agrandit et maroufle sur le support pour y intervenir avec<\/p>

diff\u00e9rents outils et m\u00e9diums. L’utilisation du chalumeau y est omnipr\u00e9sente ;<\/p>\n

\u00e0 l’aide du feu elle abime et transforme les images d’origine.<\/p>\n

Elle brouille les pistes, m\u00e9lange et m\u00e9tamorphose sa propre image afin d’interroger et de faire appara\u00eetre les malaises de notre \u00e9poque.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/p>\n

Typique de sa fascination pour la repr\u00e9sentation du corps, le th\u00e8me du personnage solitaire ou en groupe devient un leitmotiv dans son travail, introduisant d’ores et d\u00e9j\u00e0 la direction d’une longue et profonde r\u00e9flexion sur<\/p>\n

la condition humaine. A l’aide des diverses techniques qu’elle d\u00e9veloppe<\/p>\n

depuis quelques ann\u00e9es, elle trace les n\u00e9gociations d\u00e9licates du corps entre<\/p>

l\u2019\u00eatre et le non-\u00eatre ainsi que la tension paradoxale entre l’espoir et le d\u00e9sespoir. Par l’autoportrait elle laisse place \u00e0 l’interpr\u00e9tation introspective du spectateur.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/p>\n

L\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat qu\u2019elle porte \u00e0 la femme est ind\u00e9niable, elle se met en sc\u00e8ne de fa\u00e7on all\u00e9gorique et la plasticit\u00e9 de ses \u0153uvres invite au d\u00e9passement du sujet initial. En se mettant en sc\u00e8ne de la sorte, elle incarne toutes les femmes.<\/p>\n

Le travail de LYZANE POTVIN t\u00e9moigne de l’importance de nos liens humains<\/p>\n

et de nos exp\u00e9riences communes dans un monde complexe et incertain.<\/p>\n

LYZANE POTVIN’s artwork is characterized by a highly psychologic<\/span><\/p>

approach, oscillating beetween figuration and abstraction.<\/span>
<\/p>\n

Having in mind the body (not only physicality but the being as a whole)<\/span><\/p>

through a humanistic outlook, she uses different means of expression such<\/span><\/p>

as photography, painting, drawing, collage, assemblage and performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

She works by accumulation, scraping, tearing and substraction of matter.<\/span><\/p>

The bodies she paints, draws, or photographs acquire a deeply embodied aspect where tensions are sometimes unbearable.<\/span><\/p>\n


<\/span><\/p>\n

Centered around various social themes such as sexuality, violence, pain,<\/span><\/p>

illness, anxiety, fear, homelessness or women\u2019s place in society, <\/span>her work addresses the theme of human vulnerability with obvious sensitivity.<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

The use of the self-portrait is a trigger at the heart of her approach.<\/span><\/p>\n

She starts by photographing her body, or parts of it that she enlarges.<\/span><\/p>\n

These are then applied to the support before intervening in a variety<\/span><\/p>\n

of ways. <\/span>Blowtorch <\/span>use is omnipresent ; it damages and transforms the<\/span><\/p>\n

original images.<\/span><\/p>\n

She blurs <\/span>and mixes the codes through a transformation process of her<\/p>\n

own image, in order to question and reveal our times\u2019 unrest.<\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Themes of loneliness and togetherness becomes a leitmotif in her work<\/span><\/p>\n

that introduces a long and deep reflection about human condition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Using various techniques developed over the past few years,<\/span><\/p>\n

she traces the body’s boundaries between being and non-being and the paradoxical tensions between hope and despair. Her self-portraits are<\/span><\/p>\n

then open to viewers\u2019 interpretation.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Her interest about women is undeniable as she stages herself in an
allegorical way ; the plasticity of her works invite us to go beyond<\/span><\/p>\n

the initial subject. She embodies every woman by revealing herself.<\/span><\/p>\n
